La historia de cine mudo The Artist ha sido elegida como candidata a mejor película para los Oscar

Los premios Oscar se entregarán el 26 de febrero en el teatro Kodak, de Los Ángeles

Este martes la Academia de Hollywood anunció a los candidatos a la 84 edición de los premios Oscar donde la película francesa de cine mudo The Artist, esta como favorita en las categorías de mejor película y mejor actriz de reparto con la argentina Berenice Bejo.

No obstante, la película en 3D Hugo, de Martin Scorsese, acaparó la mayoría de nominaciones con 11 (Dirección artística, Edición, Efectos Visuales, entre otras), delante de las 10 que recibió The Artist.

La tercera más nominada es Moneyball, protagonizado por Brad Pit, y War Horse de Steven Spielberg, ambas con seis nominaciones.

Por su parte Mery Streep, fue nominada como mejor actriz por encarnar el papel de la llamada Dama de Hierro, Margaret Thatcher.

Así mismo George Clooney fue nominado como mejor actor por su papel en The Descendats.

Los encargados de anunciar los candidatos en el teatro Samuel Goldwyn, de Beverly Hills fueron el presidente de la Academia, Tom Sherak, y la actriz Jennifer Lawrence, candidata al Óscar por Winter's Bone en 2010.

Los Oscar se entregarán el 26 de febrero en el teatro Kodak, de Los Ángeles.
